Have you ever had this experience?
You step into a changing room with a stack of clothes to try on. You try on several items in a row—white sweater, black sweater, brown sweater, green sweater—glancing in the mirror each time. No, no, hmm, maybe, no and then… whoa!
One item—a blue sweater, let’s say—seems to pop. Wearing this color, your eyes seem brighter. Your skin looks refreshed. You feel more comfortable. Everything seems “right.”
You buy the blue sweater and almost immediately, you start getting positive reactions.
The barista gives you a big smile. “So nice to see you!”
“I love those ideas you mentioned during the meeting,” says your boss at work. “Great plan.”
“Wow honey, you look great,” says your spouse.
You feel at ease, confident, successful. It’s almost like you’ve found a “lucky sweater” that makes your day go more smoothly.
But is it luck? Is it magic? No. This is the power of color.
We all have different skin, eye, and hair colors. And we all have different personalities, too. Certain colors naturally work best on certain people, and others don’t.
Also, certain colors work best for certain situations. The colors that work best for a romantic date might not be the colors that work best for a presentation at work, for example, because every color has its own set of psychological cues.
If you’re not sure which colors work best for you… if you feel overwhelmed with too many options when you go shopping… if you feel like your skin looks “tired” in photos… or if you feel uncomfortable while getting dressed because something about your style just feels “off”… consider booking a Color Assessment with me.
In-person Color Assessments are highly recommended, but in some circumstances Zoom may be a possibility.
You won’t believe what a difference it makes once you’ve discovered your ideal color palette. In subtle (and sometimes, dramatic) ways, the world responds differently to you. Just wait and see!
